Kellen, Kyra, and Yen are young refugees in a land called Salvation, cared for by their wise fathers. The land is a paradise of temperate people with noble ideas, whose only knowledge of war is from what they read in their history scrolls. When Ketrik and Hapco reveal to their children dark secrets from their past, together, they vow to return through the Western Wilderness, to their war-torn homeland of New Caporesso, on a quest to find redemption and restore order to the country.
In Cenkin, the capital city of New Caporesso, Guan rules like a tyrant with an iron fist, subjugating his citizens to a harsh existence. His stepson, Col, and stepdaughter, Vee, train to become warriors in his image. Once Vee passes the test granting her acceptance into the legendary Tu’nide, her mother, Mervekka, reveals her own secrets to her children. Upon learning the truth about their family, they plan to embark on a path westward, seeking support from the people in order to liberate New Caporesso from the clutches of their evil stepfather, and reclaim honor for the family name.
As the two groups plan for their journeys, their futures remain uncertain. Those traveling east through the wilderness hope to discover the fate of their family, and formulate a plan to rescue the country they were elected to protect. Those riding west hope to find support from the people of New Caporesso, with goals of restoring order to the country, and avenging their family’s murder. As each expedition goes forth, they are filled with the hope that they will be able to alter their destinies and find redemption in New Caporesso.

This book has a similar feel to Game of Thrones, in that it takes a little while for you to figure out how the background, characters and rival factions fit together before the story really gets into gear. Once it does, it gets really, really good. There are characters you start out hating and end up rooting for, dark secrets kept in order to keep an alliance together and prevent open war. The antagonist is really a wonderfully despicable character. By the end of the book, you won't be able to wait for the next installment of the New Caporesso Chronicles to see how all of the storylines come together. The author really does a good job of setting the stage for an epic tale.Product details

I'm not a fan of fantasy and battles usually bore me. However, this book, with it's many fight scenes in a fantasy world, really drew me in. The characters were well drawn, and the plot naturally developed from the characters. I'm anxious to read the next installment. Any fan of fiction will enjoy this creative and unusual story.
Although this is not the genre of book that I typically read, I was intrigued by the description so I purchased it. And now I feel compelled to write a review. You do not want to miss out on this story. The characters in this book were so wonderfully developed. I was so drawn into their lives that I couldn't put the book down. The story is exciting, with unexpected twists that just kept me guessing what might happen on the next page. The battle scenes were written in such amazing detail that you feel like you are part of the action. I am anxiously awaiting the second book in this series!
I have to give this book a 10. Even with the sample. Note in case you are wondering I expanded my ratings system due to a few reviews where 5 was just not high enough. L. J. Noker creates a world that draws you in and keeps you there. Placing right into the action at the start and keeping us off guard from that point was complete genius! Descriptive visualization is very well done. Again, I could hear the horses, feel the conflicts, etc. Character / setting description is well thought out and enhanced with graphics at the right places.
Even if you are not a fan of fantasy or fiction, this book is a great read. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Edge of Betrayal is a sweeping epic tale of good and evil that captures the reader's imagination and holds on to it until the last page. L. J. Noker has created a world a vivid as Suzanne Collin's Panem in The Hunger Games. If you like tales filled with intrigue, betrayal and unflinching honor, then do not miss Edge of Betrayal.
Rich descriptions of the world, weapons and characters. I loved this book from the first chapter and can't wait to get into the next in the series. "Operatic" is the word that comes to mind. I can't wait to see how the characters develop as the series goes on. Worth every penny.
This was a great book. There was plenty of intrigue, excitement, and adventure with action, love, and deceit mixed in. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who is 15+ years old.
WOW is the first words that come to my head as I think about this book called Edge of Betrayal. If you like medieval times, knights in shiny armor, milady and war between kingdom's you will enjoy this book. It has everything, love, betrayal, jealously and loss. Leo Noker is an exceptional writer and you are put into his fantasy world of a different era with an expectation of adventure that you didn't expect and want to continue to read. Now I am hooked and have to read the next one to see how it ends. Thank you Leo for a great read.
